The Wynwood Design Review Committee unanimously approved plans for a new office building that will serve as the headquarters for Pitbull’s music label at the site of his childhood home.
The global music star, in partnership with developer Rilea Group, is proposing an eight-story, 11,200-square-foot office building for his Mr. 305 music label at 25 NE 28th Street in Wynwood. The project would replace the modest two-bedroom, one-bathroom home where Pitbull grew up — a 720-square-foot residence built in 1927, according to Miami-Dade County property records. The property is currently owned by Un Melon en Wynwood LLC, an affiliate of the music label.
Rilea Group, a Brickell-based development firm, has played a major role in shaping South Florida’s skyline with a number of residential and office projects.
