It started with a simple idea. In 2001, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau launched Miami Spice to help restaurants during the city's quieter summer season.
By offering prix-fixe menus at some of Miami's best restaurants, the program made fine dining more accessible while encouraging locals and visitors to discover new favorites. What began as an economic initiative quickly became something much bigger.
Each summer, Miami Spice transformed into a culinary tradition, giving diners a reason to explore neighborhoods they hadn't visited, try restaurants they may have overlooked, and experience Miami through its ever-evolving food scene.
As Miami grew into an international destination, so did Miami Spice. The city's restaurant scene expanded from beloved local institutions to award-winning concepts recognized around the world. Today, Michelin-starred restaurants stand alongside neighborhood gems, making Miami one of the country's most exciting dining cities.
For restaurants, Miami Spice became more than a seasonal promotion. It introduced thousands of first-time guests to dining rooms they may never have visited otherwise, creating loyal customers, supporting local businesses, & helping fuel Miami's culinary growth year after year.
25 years later, the tradition continues. Each August and September, Miami Spice invites both longtime locals and first-time visitors to experience the city's incredible diversity where every meal tells a story influenced by the cultures that make Miami unlike anywhere else. This milestone year is more than a celebration of restaurants. It's a celebration of the chefs, hospitality teams, and diners who have helped shape Miami's food culture over the last 25 years.
Here's to the next chapter of Miami’s evolving culinary scene.
